11月26日 PerfectAccording to my calendar...about this time 2 years ago I was in Atlanta. Having a conversation that started with a young lady seeking my advice. Her name was Tonya. In the end...I was the one to walk away with the biggest learn. Having second thoughts about ending a long relationship, she asked the age-old question...
"Do you believe in soul mates?"
My answer may not be for everyone but for me back then it was, "Yes...but I do not believe the existence of a soul mate is ascribed. I believe it is achieved. It's a delicate balance created through the conscious efforts of the people who choose to make it so."
"Perfection isn't born at random...
it is the creation of purpose."
I wasn't sure if I was making any sense to her. I wondered if it made sense to me after saying it out loud for the first time. Her interpretation of it all was something I've come to value now more than ever. Thank you Tonya! She said, "Maybe it's not so much about the perfect person as it is about the perfect person at the perfect time." I am certainly not saying soul mates have expiration dates. The value I place on this statement actually has very little to do with relationships between two people. It's really more about the relationship people have with the world around them.
The value is in the power of perspective.
The subtle shift in vantage point that can change every level of appreciation. For me, distance has transformed a home from a common place for a small-town girl, into a spectacular dream for a weary traveler and then again into a harbor...for the ebb and flow of a happy, yet restless itinerant. Time has changed a journey from a mission in living a plan...to an intermission while planning to live. Every passing second adds another layer, another dimension to what may or may not be noticed at any given time. Custom made moments, people and places waiting...to seem perfect.
The angles are ever changing.
Maybe perfection is born at random but waits...for us. To seek out the magical mixture. To take the time to make it our own through conscious efforts. To be that perfect person who sees that perfect place and knows it is the perfect time. Maybe it waits for us to come along and create that delicate balance...with purpose. Maybe...it's a good thing perfection can be redefined as often as it is predefined. It's a good thing the world is kind enough to continue to bring these opportunities around to us...again and again, until we're ready to see them. Eventually, we will see them if we just take the time to look around. It's a very good thing.....
the world is a patient place . 评论 (9)
